Dental & Vision Insurance

Cleanings, crowns, glasses, and exams add up fast, and they're rarely covered by medical insurance. A well-chosen dental and vision plan turns unpredictable bills into a small, budgetable monthly cost.

Standalone dental and vision plans that fill a real gap — because Original Medicare and most health plans don't cover routine dental or eye care.

Why dental, vision & hearing coverage matters

Many health plans — including Original Medicare — don't cover routine dental, vision, or hearing care. These are services most people need regularly, and without coverage the costs add up fast: cleanings, fillings, eye exams, glasses, hearing aids, and more. We offer affordable standalone plans you can add to any coverage, or bundle for maximum savings.

Three kinds of plans

Pick one or bundle all three for the best value:

  • Dental — preventive cleanings, fillings, crowns, and dentures, with plans starting under $20/month.
  • Vision — eye exams, prescription glasses, contact lenses, and discounts on LASIK.
  • Hearing — hearing exams, hearing aids, and fittings, covering a benefit Original Medicare largely excludes.

Who benefits from these plans

Standalone dental, vision, and hearing coverage fits a lot of people:

  • Medicare beneficiaries — Original Medicare doesn't cover routine dental, vision, or hearing
  • Retirees who want to keep the care they had with employer coverage
  • Self-employed workers adding affordable benefits to an ACA plan
  • Families needing dental and vision for kids and adults
  • Anyone without employer benefits — no health plan required to enroll

What dental plans typically cover

Most dental plans phase coverage by procedure type, which is why the level you choose matters:

Procedure typeExamplesTypical coverage
PreventiveCleanings, X-rays, examsUsually 100%
BasicFillings, extractionsUsually 80%
MajorCrowns, bridges, denturesUsually 50%

FAQ

Common questions

Does Medicare cover dental and vision?

Original Medicare (Parts A & B) doesn't cover routine dental, vision, or hearing care. Some Medicare Advantage plans include these benefits, but standalone plans are also available and are often more comprehensive.

Can I get dental or vision without a health plan?

Absolutely. These are standalone plans — you don't need a health-insurance policy to enroll. They're available to individuals and families regardless of your other coverage.

How much do these plans cost?

Dental plans typically start around $15–$40/month and vision plans around $5–$15/month; bundling dental, vision, and hearing offers the best value. We shop multiple carriers to find your best rate.

Is there a waiting period for major dental work?

Often, yes — many plans phase in coverage for crowns, bridges, and dentures over 6–12 months. We'll match you to a plan whose waiting periods fit the care you know you'll need.

How much does it cost to work with Mere Benefits?

Nothing extra. Plan prices are set by the carriers and are identical whether you enroll on your own or with a licensed agent — we're paid by the carriers, so our guidance is free to you.

How do I get started?

Call or text (904) 654-5450, email info@merebenefits.com, or use our contact form. We'll set up a relaxed, no-pressure conversation — in person on the First Coast, or by phone and video.

Are you independent, or tied to one insurance company?

Independent. We aren't captive to a single insurer, so we compare the options across the carriers we represent and recommend what fits you — not what pays us most.

Will I have to change doctors?

Not if we can help it. Before recommending a plan we confirm your doctors are in-network and your prescriptions are covered, so keeping your care is part of the decision.

Can you help by phone and video, or only in person?

Both. We meet clients in person across Northeast Florida and Camden County, GA, and serve all 11 of our licensed states by phone and video.
